Filing period open for two Quincy irrigation district positions
QUINCY — The filing period is open for two positions on the Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District board of directors.
Positions are open in Divisions 5 and 6, according to a press release from the QCBID. Division 5 includes a section of the district west of Moses Lake, north to Soap Lake and south to Frenchman Hills. Bill Stevens is the incumbent
Division 5 covers the section of Royal Slope east of Dodson Road and the area south of the Potholes Reservoir. Ko Weyns is the incumbent.
Candidates must hold title to land within the QCBID and the director division they want to represent. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a Washington resident and U.S. citizen.
People who want to file for either position must submit a nomination petition, available from the QCBID office, 1720 S. Central Ave., Quincy, 509-787-3591. Petitions must be signed by at least 10 qualified voters in the director division. Candidate petitions must be filed by 5 p.m. Nov. 24.
