MATTAWA — Candidates for offices that represent Grant County residents will gather at the Wahluke High School theater tonight at 5 p.m. for a meet and greet with residents followed by a moderated forum at 6 p.m.

The event is hosted by the South Grant County Chamber of Commerce, Wahluke School District and Columbia Basin Herald.

Several candidates for office have confirmed that they will attend representing races for U.S. Representative, State Auditor, Washington Attorney General, Washington Representative, Grant County Commissioner (Districts 1 and 2), Washington State Supreme Court and the Washington Court of appeals.

The meet and greet will last an hour, followed by the forum rules presentation at 6 p.m. and a forum moderated by Columbia Basin Herald Managing Editor R. Hans “Rob” Miller at approximately 6:15.

None of the organizations sponsoring this event endorse any particular candidate for office. The event is being held to ensure voters are educated regarding the options on the Nov. 4 ballot.

Wahluke High School is located at 505 N. Boundary Road in Mattawa.
