The reports below were provided by the named sheriff’s office or police department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Ephrata PD 

Aug. 29 

Vehicle involved in county theft incident located in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue SE. Grant County Sheriff’s Office seized the vehicle.  

Suspect stole an orange Ephrata School flag and pole. Suspect was in silver crew cab truck with a black toolbox. Video and photos filed. Value of flag and pole $75. 

Report of found property in the 500 block of Nat Washington Way. Reporting person advised a first aid kit was in the east tree line of the school property.  

Report of possible animal cruelty in the 200 block of Division Avenue E. Reporting party said large dog is left inside vehicle, sometimes for hours. Reporting person said dog owner leaves windows open and bowl of water but usually doesn’t check on dog for hours. 

Report of overdose on Sixth Avenue SE. Reporting person returned home and found female suspect on her floor, unresponsive. Subject was blue and unresponsive on police arrival. Naloxone administered and subject started to come to. EMS responded and evaluated. Subject admitted to using Fentanyl and refused medical.  

Report of bicycle theft on Third Avenue SE. Victim described bike as a BMX style, blue, black and white frame.  

Aug. 30

Report of suspects drinking at Lions Park. Police said no more drinking in public and no driving after drinking. 

Report of medication theft. Reporting party said he lost half his medication while at work.  

Report of a theft at a business on Nat Washington Way. Suspect switching tags from clothing and did not pay for a hat. Reporting party said suspect undercounted the corn and the cucumbers he had in his cart. Total theft is $83.79, charges but no trespass.  

Aug. 31 

Report of theft at reporting party’s storage unit on Seventh Avenue NE. Reporting party said she broke up with her ex recently and he took key and half the belongings from storage unit.  

Report of a two-vehicle collision on State Route 282. Driver one said she thought vehicle two had turned westbound on SR 282 and she looked for west bound traffic before proceeding forward. Vehicle one hit the rear front corner of vehicle two. Both drivers had seat belts on and driver’s licenses.  

Sept. 1 

Report of debit card found, cut up per card owner’s request. 

Report of theft at business in the 1100 block of Basin Street SW. Suspect took $10-$30 worth of items and walked out. 

Sept. 2 

Report of cold damage, reporting person discovered BB gun hole in front window of his residence in 800 block of C Street NW. 

Report of DUI in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue SW. Reporting party driving towards Walmart but gone on police arrival. 

Sept. 3 

Report of theft in 1100 block of Basin Street SW. Reporting party said two suspects departed the store with stolen merchandise, entered vehicle and departed southbound on Basin Street. Employees believe theft was about $200 worth of alcohol.  

Report of second theft in the 1100 block Basin Street SW. While police were investigating above case, female suspect walked out with concealed items. Female suspect contacted in parking lot and items were recovered. Female suspect trespassed for six months. 

Report of harassment in 100 block of Fourth Avenue SE. Reporting party said male suspect would not leave them alone. 

Report of suspicious person in the 300 block of Fourth Avenue NW in the high school baseball field.  

Report of two vehicle collisions on C Street SW. Vehicle one pulled out into traffic from parking spot and collided with vehicle two traveling southbound.  

Report of DUI, felony threats to kill police, obstructing, open container, tampering with evidence, transferred to Washington State Patrol. 

Report of homemade knife in 500 block of J Street SE. 

Sept. 4 

Report of trespassing in 1100 block of Basin Street SW.  

Report of harassment. Report of suspect harassing employees at hospital. Suspect will not be seen at the Columbia Basin Hospital unless an emergency now. 

Report of fraud. Reporting party clicked a link with a picture on Facebook and his bank account was hacked for $1,000. 

Moses Lake PD 

Aug. 30 

Report of call in which somebody stated they were from Grant County Sheriff’s Office and had a warrant for her arrest. Caller demanded money. Police advised it was a scam. 

Report that someone called and stated they were with GCSO and told them they have warrants for their arrest. Police spoke to reporting person and advised them it was a scam and to block the number. 

Report of unknown suspects breaking into apartments under construction on North Ted Yao Way. 

Report of a collision, vehicle one attempted to turn out of the parking lot and struck vehicle two. Vehicle two was in the inside lane of North Stratford Road and did not see vehicle one pull into the lane. 

Report of customer leaving purse at a table at a business on E. Yonezawa Boulevard. When looking for ID the reporting party found a plastic bag of crystal-like substance. Police obtained bag and logged for destruction.  

Report of collision in parking lot of a business on S. Pioneer Way. Police responded and facilitated exchange of information. 

Report of two-vehicle collision near intersection of N. Stratford Road and West Valley Road. Vehicle one pulled out of a business parking lot and attempted to head north on Stratford. Vehicle two was traveling south and the two vehicles collided. Vehicle one towed from scene.  

Report of school bus-vehicle collision. Vehicle legally parked when bus made a right turn and collided with driver side of vehicle.  

Report of suspect rear-ending occupied vehicle and fleeing on W. Broadway Ave. Suspect identified.  

Report of 12 rapid fired shots near W. Ivy Avenue and South A Street. Police located car meet and found vehicle was backfiring.  

Report of suspect hitting reporting party in arm. Suspect drinking heavily and reporting party was scared. Suspect booked into Grant County Jail for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Aug. 31 

Report of a male suspect attempting to break down daughter's bedroom door during argument. Suspect did not comply with officers on arrival. Suspect booked into Grant County Jail for third-degree malicious misconduct – domestic violence, fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and obstructing police.  

Report of attempted theft at business on N. Stratford Road. Individuals passed all points of sale with an item but were stopped by loss prevention. Individuals left business. Police located vehicle and trespassed individuals.  

Report of bike theft. Bike is a black and yellow Redline. Reporting party wants bike back, does not want to pursue charges. 

Assisted Quincy PD with contacted assault victim from an assault in Quincy.  

Report of firearm stolen from vehicle near Cascade Park. Black 43x 9 mm with red dot sight and light taken during vehicle prowl. 

Report of road rage incident on N. Stratford Road where male attempted to challenge the reporting party to a fight.  

Report of suspect stealing $25.62 from a store on North Stratford Road. Reporting party stated suspect was previously trespassed in April 2024. Suspect booked into Grant County Jail. 

Report of two suspects stealing silver chain necklaces from store without paying. Both contacted. Charges to be filed. 

Sept. 1 

Report of unknown man entering fenced property. Male caught on camera attempting to steal bicycle. Reporting party said they were going to come out with gun and suspect fled on foot. 

Report of overdose at business on N. Stratford Road. 

Report of prowled vehicle on S. C Street. Items stolen included ID, credit cards and debit cards. Cards then used to make more than $2,500 of purchases. Reporting party contacted banks.  

Report of opened mail with live ammunition inside, not a bomb. 

Report of a vehicle stolen off of East Wheeler Road. Reporting party said the suspects cut the fence and drove the vehicle off the property on an unknown date. 

Report of hit and run on private property on N. Stratford Road. Vehicle two was legally parked and unoccupied. Vehicle one backed up and drove around the end of the parking lot hitting the rear bumper of vehicle two. Driver one did not stop and drove around the parking lot to look at damage before leaving scene. Vehicle one and driver one identified.  

Report of collision at intersection of W. Valley Road and Crestview Drive.  

Report of vehicle prowl at business on E. Yonezawa Boulevard. Suspect pushed out taped portion of window to gain access.  

Report of subject being pepper sprayed and his bike was stolen. Subject was agitated and would not answer questions during interview. Bike was black Genesis brand with “Genesis” written in white with yellow forks. 

Report of knife and other items in reporting party’s garbage can on W. Gem Avenue.  

Sept. 2 

Report of suspect dumpster diving at business on N. Stratford Road.  

Assisted Washington State Patrol with a Spanish-speaking DUI on S. Balsam Street.  

Assisted GCSO with stolen vehicle on N. Stratford Road. 

Report of theft from community garage on W. Marina Drive. Reporting party said $1,300 worth of batteries and trolling motor stolen. No suspect at this time. 

Report of two vehicle collision at E. Third Avenue and S. Alder Street. Vehicle one collided into rear of vehicle two. Driver two injured. Driver one drove away from scene and booked into Grant County Jail for hit-and-run attended with injury, third-degree driving with suspended license and failure to obey police officers.  

Report of subjects entering a closed bank that was not secured when employees left. Subjects walked around for four minutes before determining the bank was closed and left. 

Report of theft at a business on South Pioneer Way. Unsure what they took or who the suspect is; however alarm went off when they exited the store. 

Report of suspect asking for rides in a store on South Pioneer Way. Suspect making people uneasy, trespassed from location. 

Report of two shots heard from across the lake at East Nelson Road and South Division Street. 

Report of fraud attempt. Reporting party advised he received an email stating he need to pay $1,950 in Bitcoin or risk video and photos of the reporting party being released. Reporting party advised that it was a scam and to not click email links from unknown parties. 

Report of suspect stealing dog food and ice cream from business on S. Pioneer Way. Suspect was trespassed permanently and charged with third-degree theft. 

Report of suspect stealing more than $300 in merchandise at business on N. Stratford Road. Suspect said it was a mistake. Suspect to be charged with third-degree theft. Suspect permanently trespassed from business.

Francisco Marin Vazquez, 31, Moses Lake, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.

Jason Ray Shearer, 43, Moses Lake, booked on third-degree malicious misconduct – domestic violence, obstructing police and fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.   

Christobal Tzanahua Molohua, 41, Quincy, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence, third-degree malicious mischief – domestic violence, and two warrants for harassment – domestic violence, fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Daniel Lee Brown, 65, Ephrata, booked on violation of no contact/protection order and resisting arrest. 

Nabil Faiz, 43, Soap Lake, booked on third-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment – domestic violence and felony harassment.  

Christopher Nathan Gamiz, 18, Quincy, booked on second-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Brittany Lee Jordan, 31, Ephrata, booked on third-degree retail theft with special circumstances, second-degree burglary and third-degree theft. 

Sept. 2 

Miranda Nichole Weger, 35, Moses Lake, booked on possession of stolen vehicle. 

Justin Merle Cromwell, 42, Marysville, booked on second-degree burglary. 

Brian Lee Rang, 61, Soap Lake, booked on driving under the influence.  

Ricky Duana Hancock, 65, Moses Lake, booked on attempted hit-and-run, third-degree driving with a suspended license, failure to obey police officers and two Grant County District Court warrants.  

Sept. 3 

Aaron Leon Ammann, 54, Spokane, booked on second-degree criminal trespassing. 

Sept. 4 

Benjamin Earl Garfield, 35, Quincy, booked on two warrants from Grant County Superior Court for possession of stolen vehicle and attempting to elude vehicle. 

Miguel Angel Martinez, 35, Pasco, booked on felony harassment, driving under the influence, open alcohol container, obstructing police and tampering with evidence.
