COLUMBIA BASIN — Summer is winding down, but there’s still plenty going on in the Basin this month of interest to seniors and those they might want to join them on an adventure: 

Sept. 5-8  

Sunbanks Blues & Roots Festival  

Four-day blues music festival featuring Too Slim & the Taildraggers, Sammy Eubanks, Billy Stoops & the Dirt Angels and more. Info: www.sunbanksfestival.com.  

Sept. 11  

Othello Demo Derby  

Smashing, crashing, roaring fun the day before Othello Rodeo. Trophy dash, heat races, powder puff races, Australian pursuit and more. Time trials begin at 5:30 p.m., derby begins at 6 p.m. Info: www.othellorodeo.com.  

Sept. 11-14  

Othello Fair  

Four-day county fair featuring parade, carnival, food and craft booths, livestock exhibits and more. This year’s theme is “Denim & Lace.” Info: www.othellofair.org.  

Sept. 12-15  

Sunbanks Rocks! Festival  

Four-day rock music festival featuring Heart by Heart, Moon Daddy, the Staxx Brothers, Piper’s Rush and more. Info: www.sunbanksfestival.com.  

Sept. 13  

B Street Block Party  

Food trucks, beer and wine vendors, games and live music by Whiskey Trail Band and Rylei Franks. 6 p.m. on B Street Southeast between Central Avenue South and First Avenue Southeast. Info: quincyvalley.org.  

Othello PRCA Rodeo  

The Othello PRCA rodeo is proud to be known as one of the best small rodeos around. JJ Harrison will be barrelman and clown, and the specialty act will be EhCapa Bareback Riders. Info: www.othellorodeo.com/.  

Sept. 14  

Farmer Consumer Awareness Day  

Farmer Consumer Awareness Day is a day for farmers to show how food is produced, and for consumers to learn. The festival includes a parade, farm equipment display, quilt show, vendors, tours, fun run, car show, a cook off, and a soccer tournament. 9 a.m. at Quincy Middle School, 16 Sixth Ave. SE, Quincy. Sip & Stroll  

Downtown Moses Lake Association fundraiser wine walk. Visit 23 participating locations, a beer garden in the square, a photo booth and a car show. A local shuttle will take participants around to the extended locations. Sip-and-Strollers will receive tasting tickets, raffle tickets, a map of the event and a customized tasting glass and bag. 1-5 p.m. at Sinkiuse Square, 216 W. Third Ave., Moses Lake. Art on Third  

See local artists and their works gathered in downtown Moses Lake. There will be crystal artists, jewelry, painting and photography and more, as well as opportunities for guests to make their own works of art. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at East Third Avenue and South Alder Street, Moses Lake. Care Fair  

Twenty-plus local nonprofits and service organizations ready to show what they’re all about and ways to give back to the community. Noon to 5 p.m. at Youth Dynamics, 106 E. Third Ave., Moses Lake. Info: caremoseslake.com/care-fair.  

Walk to End Alzheimer’s  

Put on your purple and come out to McCosh Park to help in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. The walk raises funds for care, support and research, as well as providing support and companionship for people living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s and other dementia. Hartline Community Days

Sept. 19  

Friends of the Moses Lake Library Book Sale  

Peruse through gently used books and take home a new treasure for your home library. Proceeds go to help fund library programs. 2-6 p.m. at the Moses Lake Public Library, 418 E. Fifth Avenue. Info: 509-765-3489.  

Flower & Pumpkin Field Open House

Deutschesfest  

A four-day celebration of German heritage with a parade, bed races, German food and beer garden, live music and more. Info: www.deutschesfest.net.  

Sept. 21  

Autism Awareness Walk  

Free family event and fundraiser for the Autism Support Group of Grant County. Proceeds go to provide monthly parent support groups, family-friendly events, and a scholarship for continuing education. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Grant County Courthouse, 35 C St.NW, Ephrata. Sept. 28  

Dude, Where’s My Cart Golf Tournament 

Benefit tournament to fund Alzheimer’s research. Players face challenges like playing with short clubs or while wearing “dementia glasses” that block peripheral vision. 8 a.m. at Sage Hills Golf Club, 10400 Sagehill Road SE, Warden. Info: sagehillsgolf.com. 

UMANI Festival  

UMANI is a major community-wide collaboration between individuals and many of the largest cultural institutions in our area to celebrate our community’s Hispanic heritage. Free activities include access to a low-rider car show and hop-off, music, barbers, artists, creative workshops, crafts and games for families, resource booths, vendors, food trucks and a beer garden. Noon to 6 p.m. at Sinkiuse Square, 216 W. Third Ave, Moses Lake.  

Down Syndrome Buddy Walk  

More than a walk, this is a celebration of the people in our community with Down syndrome. Music, dancing, activities, food and games precede the walk. 2:30 p.m. at McCosh Park, Moses Lake. Info: 360-903-3201.  

Celebration of Harvest and Culture  

The Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum will recognize the many cultures that settled and live in the Quincy Valley, and the agriculture that forms an important part of its economy, with a festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, 415 F Street SW. People can learn about pioneer life and go for a hayride; there will be crafts for children and live music. A parade of flags representing the heritage of Quincy pioneers and current residents is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.  

Second Annual Party for the Paws  

Adams County Pet Rescue will have its second annual celebration and fundraiser including a yappy hour, chow time, dessert dash and a live auction. The tickets are one for $30 and two for $50. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. at the Adams County Fair Grounds, 831 Reynolds Road, Othello.  

Almira Country Fair  

Parade, kids’ activities, firemen’s breakfast, pickleball and bean bag tournaments, community dinner and bingo. All day at Lions Club Park, Almira. Info: almiracountryfair@gmail.com.
