QUINCY — A burglary occurred Monday night at around 10:20 p.m. in the 13800 block of Martin Road Northwest, near Double M Orchards, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Cromwell, 42, from Marysville was booked into Grant County Jail for investigation of second-degree burglary. His vehicle was seized for evidence.

GCSO and Quincy Police Department responded to the call from the homeowner who was in western Washington when the burglary took place, but saw two people on his property with his camera surveillance app. One of those people broke into the homeowner’s shop.

Upon deputy arrival, there was a Toyota Sequoia hidden behind apple bins. The female in the backseat was uncooperative, then detained for questioning, then released because there was no probable cause.

The vehicle matched the images posted by area residents who recorded suspicious vehicles in their neighborhoods. Deputies then used a drone and found Cromwell hiding beneath plastic apple orchard material. Video footage identified him as the suspect who had forced entry into the shop across the road.
