Kerry Bruno Koziol
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kerry Koziol, who unexpectedly left us Sept. 24, 2024, at the age of 71. Kerry was a devoted father, beloved brother and cherished friend.
Born in Ephrata, Wash., Kerry was raised in Moses Lake, Wash. He began working at the age of 14 to help support his mother, stepfather and five siblings. And he never stopped working to support his family and his own children. This included many grueling jobs around the country including pipe fitting/laying and cowboying. He also graduated from farrier school in New Mexico and spent most of his working life as a professional farrier.
Amongst the long hours on the job, he found time to develop a love for rodeo, hunting, camping and sports that he carried throughout his life.
But those who knew Kerry know that his work and hobbies were not his passion. His passion was his children. Despite his large stature and extreme toughness, he was a softy when it came to his children. He is survived by his four children, Christopher Hutsell, Keeva Kimble, Mathew Koziol and Marnie Searing. His children will forever be indebted to his devotion, wisdom, warmth, pride and the love he poured into them. Usually, the first thing he shared with anybody when he interacted with them was a story about one of them or full update on all of them.
During his tragically short retirement, Kerry was able to travel around the country with his partner, Dianne Jacobs. They enjoyed country dancing and visiting their kids, grandkids and friends all over the country. After his long career of hard work and dedication to others, he deserved much more of this time than he got.
Along with his children, Kerry is survived by their families. Christopher and his wife, Teresa, and their two daughters, Kirsten and Krista. Keeva and her husband, Dusty, and their two sons, Kass and Cort. Marnie and her wife, Tracie, and daughter Kaylie and son Brodie. He is also survived by his siblings Tony Koziol, Douglas Koziol and many other close friends and family who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruno Koziol, mother Alice Harrington, brother Steve Koziol, sister Terri Hansen and sister Pat Hutton.
A celebration of life is being scheduled for April 2025.
