Lloyd Arbaugh

| October 17, 2024 3:37 PM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lloyd Arbaugh, beloved husband and father. Lloyd, 89, was born on Muddy Creek Mountain in Alderson, W.Va., to parents Lloyd Price and Mary Melissa Ball Arbaugh. Lloyd had eight siblings, all of whom preceded him in death.

At age 17, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 22 years.  He was stationed in Alaska, Arizona, California, Washington, Morocco, Vietnam, Thailand and Germany where he met Ilma, his loving wife of 67 years.

In 1976, Lloyd and his family moved to Moses Lake, Wash., attracted by close friendships forged when he was stationed at Larson Air Force Base and the abundant hunting and fishing in the area. In 1978, Lloyd fulfilled a lifelong dream and opened Lloyd’s Tune Up. He retired in 2000 to more fully enjoy time with his family, as well as hunting and fishing.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ilma, daughter Sylvia Arbaugh, daughter and son-in-law, Trish and Dan Durand, the extended Durand family, and many relatives in West Virginia, North Carolina and Germany.

Lloyd was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N Dale Road, Moses Lake. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m., with the funeral mass following at 10:30 a.m. If you are so inclined, you may make a donation in Lloyd’s name to a charity of your choice.
