OTHELLO — Othello Police Department officers are asking for the public’s help as part of their investigation of an Oct. 11 shooting.

“Two gunshot victims have been identified,” said Othello Police Chief Dave Rehaume on Tuesday. “We are in contact with the people involved.”

One was a juvenile, one was an adult, he said.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 1100 block of South Fourth Avenue, according to an OPD media release.

Rehaume said Tuesday that while other shootings have occurred near South Fourth Avenue, Friday’s shooting does not appear to be related to any other incident in that area. Nor does it appear to be related to any other shootings in the Othello area, at least according to the information available to date, he said.

The case is still under investigation and officers are still gathering evidence, he said.

“Even today there was movement,” Rehaume said.

Anyone who may have information on the shooting is asked to call the Othello Police Department, 509-488-3314, and ask for Detective Perez or Detective Sergeant McFarlane.
