Kim Hoiness

| October 9, 2024 3:50 PM

Kim M. Hoiness, age 64, passed peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024.

Kim was born Oct. 11, 1959, in Moses Lake, Wash., to Donald P. and Barbara (Pinky) Blessing. She was the youngest of five siblings.

After graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1978, she attended Central Washington University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Merchandising. While at CWU she met Clete Hoiness (CD), whom she married in 1984 and later had three sons, Kyle, Sean and Cody.

Kim used her degree in Apparel Merchandising as she launched her retail career at the Bon Marche in Longview, Wash. She gained experience in varying management roles in big box stores in the Longview area, which prepared her to open her own children’s clothing store in Moses Lake in 1986, Kylie’s Kloset. She owned and operated this successful business for 16 years and eventually added a women’s boutique section before selling the business in 2002 to focus more time on family and to begin a career in Real Estate. Kim represented residential and commercial clients in Moses Lake and surrounding areas until her retirement.

Kim’s greatest joy in life was her family. She and CD spent countless hours watching their boys compete in wrestling, golf and football all over the Pacific Northwest. When she wasn’t busy following the boys she enjoyed spending time on the golf course, in her yard or with family and friends, telling jokes and crazy stories, which were always sure to get a laugh.

As Kim and CD’s boys grew up and had their own families, she found an even more exciting source of joy in her grandchildren Liam, Hendrix, Wyatt, Will and Brycen.  She cherished her time with them, and even though her time with them was too short, she has certainly left a mark in their hearts.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Pinky Blessing, and her sister, Peggy Blessing.

She is survived by her husband, CD, her sons, Kyle (Angie), Sean (Carrie) and Cody, all of Moses Lake along with her five grandchildren, her siblings, Kathleen (John) Forsberg, Moses Lake, Greg (Maggie) Blessing, Spokane, Wash., and Chris Blessing, Moses Lake, her in-laws, Susie, Val, Marlene, Harold, Rocky, Corky and Ron Hoiness, who reside in Longview and Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Kim well will deeply miss her hilarious personality, her loyalty and her deep love for family and friends that she held dear.

The family has scheduled services Oct. 18. The prayer of the Holy Rosary will take place at 10 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of the Word at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church 200 N. Dale Road, Moses Lake, Wash. Graveside services will follow immediately after at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery and the family invites friends to join them at the Pillar Rock Grill at 1 p.m. for a celebration of Kim’s life.

Kim Hoiness loved her family and was always thrilled to make them laugh and smile.
