Black Friday fish have been stocked across WA
OLYMPIA — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking 24 lakes with over 65,000 rainbow trout for Black Friday fishing. The fish measured longer than 14 inches and weighed around 3 pounds each, according to WDFW.
“WDFW has offered Black Friday fishing for more than a decade and it’s been a big hit for anglers statewide,” WDFW Inland Trout Manager Steve Caromile said in a release. “If you’ve never participated before, this is a great year to start a new tradition spending time outside with friends and family the day after Thanksgiving.”
The fish will be placed in lakes across the state including: Fourth of July Lake in Adams and Lincoln counties; Roses Lake in Chelan County; Battle Ground Lake and Klineline Pond in Clark County; Kress Lake in Cowlitz County; Cranberry Lake in Island County; Beaver Lake and Green Lake in King County; Rowland Lake in Klickitat County; Fort Borst Park Pond and South Lewis County Park Pond in Lewis County; Cases Pond in Pacific County; American Lake and Tanwax Lake in Pierce County; Ballinger Lake, Gissburg Ponds, Silver Lake and Lake Tye in Snohomish County; Hatch Lake in Stevens County; Black Lake, Long Lake and Offutt Lake in Thurston County and Elton Pond North in Yakima County.
WDFW wants to remind residents a fishing license is still required, and a Discover Pass is required to park in most areas.
