Warden Cougars end volleyball season with 14-10 record
WARDEN — After rallying to defeat No. 10 Forks in the first round of the 2B State Volleyball Tournament’s consolation bracket, the No. 15 Cougars fell to No. 11 Davenport on Wednesday morning.
Davenport won the first set 25-14, but the Cougars rallied to tie the match after winning the second frame 25-17. Both teams traded the third and fourth sets, with the Gorillas first winning 25-12 and the Cougars then winning 28-26, but Davenport won the fifth set 15-11 to advance in the bracket.
The loss ended the season for Warden, who finished the 2024 season with a 14-10 overall record. Warden won the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference’s East division and qualified for state for the second consecutive season.
