EPHRATA — The Ephrata High School received an upgrade to its softball and soccer parking lot. Tommer Construction and Stevens Hay donated $25,000 in labor and supplies to expand the lot and make it more accessible to families and fans.

"We are incredibly grateful to Tommer Construction, Stevens Hay, and the Enforcers Softball Program, whose connections helped make this project possible," said Bryan Johnson, Ephrata High School athletic director. "Their generosity has provided a much-needed upgrade that will make the complex easily accessible to more people. This donation also allows the district to allocate resources that would have been used on this project toward other initiatives that directly benefit our students."

Steven Hays began the project, according to Ephrata School District Communications Director Sarah Morford. The company removed over 40 truckloads of sod in a couple of days. Steven Hays then graded the new 250-by-60-foot parking lot.

Then, Tommer Construction delivered around 600 tons of gravel, transported in around 20 truck and trailer loads. The Ephrata School District’s maintenance crew relocated sprinklers, installed a new gate and added post and cable fencing around the new parking lot.

The new parking lot at the Ephrata High School soccer and softball complex was in high demand for an Enforcers Softball Tournament in October, according to Ephrata School District Communications Director Sarah Morford. The new lot is to the left of the complex.
