Public Notice Soliciting Public Comment on Section 106 Consultation Notice is hereby given that the Bureau of Reclamation will complete Section 106 consultation as required by the National Historic Preservation Act, in connection with potential impacts related to two canal lining projects by the Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District for the Columbia Basin Project West Canal in Grant County, Washington. The projects are for the lining of approximately 5,600 feet of the West Canal, that Reclamation proposes to partially fund through grants. Reclamation determined the proposed canal lining projects will result in an adverse effect to a historic resource and is consequently developing a programmatic agreement to address those adverse effects to the historic built environment and streamline future consultation and mitigation for similar projects. A copy of the draft PA is available for public review at https://www.usbr.gov/pn/programs/wcpa/index.html. Reclamation invites the public to provide comments on the draft PA to be considered in the development of the final PA. Written comments can be sent to Elizabeth Heether, acting environmental program manager, Bureau of Reclamation, Columbia Cascades Area Office, 1917 Marsh Rd. Yakima, WA 98901.
