Samaritan, Big Bend partner for internship program
MOSES LAKE — A collaboration has been announced between Samaritan Healthcare and Big Bend Community College to provide a paid internship opportunity for second-year Manufacturing and Process Technology students.
“We are thrilled to partner with Big Bend Community College and their Manufacturing and Process Technology (MPT) program to offer hands-on internship experiences at Samaritan,” said Chief Ambulatory Services Officer for Samaritan Healthcare, Dan Milbridge. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals right here in our community."
Interns will engage in 16 to 20 hours of work per week, aligning with their academic schedules, and will participate in various hands-on tasks related to the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling of the hospital's facilities and equipment. The internship pays $23.80 per hour, according to the listing.
“I am just extremely grateful for the team at Samaritan Healthcare for providing this opportunity for our students to get meaningful, paid, hands-on experience that they can not only put on a resume but can also apply towards degree credits in our Manufacturing & Process Technologies program,” said BBCC Industrial Systems Technology Assistant Professor, Justin Henley. “I think it speaks volumes about the character of the entire organization at Samaritan Healthcare to want to give back to our community and help us train today’s workforce.”
The application deadline for the winter quarter 2025 internship is Nov. 22, 2024. For those interested, visit: https://bit.ly/SamaritanInternship.
