Mungia holds narrow lead WA Supreme Court race
OLYMPIA — State Supreme Court Pos. 2 candidate Sal Mungia led his opponent by a narrow margin of 0.8% of votes as of Friday night, according to the Washington Secretary of State’s office.
Statewide, Mungia received around 1.45 million votes and Dave Larson has around 1.43 votes, giving Mungia 50.14% of voters and Larson with 49.34%.
However, in Grant County, as of Thursday Larson held the local vote with 72.18% and 12,137 votes. Mungia received 27.43% of the Grant County vote, or 4,612 votes. Larson also led in Adams County as of Friday with 63.54% of voters and 2,745 votes to Mungia's 35.02% of voters and 1,513 votes.
Mungia won the primary in August with around 760,000 votes or 43.43% of voters. Larson followed close behind during the primaries with around 640,000 votes or 36.45% of voters. Todd A. Bloom received almost 286,000 votes and David R. Shelvey received around 60,000 votes.
