Brown leads Washington AG polls

OLYMPIA – Democrat Nick Brown is leading the polls for attorney general with 55.8% of the votes. His opponent, Republican Pete Serrano has 44.1% of the votes.  


However, as votes continue to be counted, the winner could change until the County Canvassing Boards certify and transmit the results to the Secretary of State’s Office Nov. 26 and the Secretary of State certifies the election Dec. 5.   


As of Nov. 8, at 4:50 p.m. Brown received around 1.9 million votes and Serrano pulled about 1.4 million votes, according to the Washington Secretary of State.  


However, in Grant County as of Nov. 8 Serrano led in local polling with 13,743 votes and 72.36% of voters. Brown received 5,237 votes and 227.57% of the Grant County vote. The same trend happened in Adams County as of Nov. 8, with Serrano receiving 2,725 votes or 75.33% of the votes. Brown received 1,207 votes or 24.41% of the votes.  


Serrano won the Aug. 6 primary election with around 814,000 votes or 42.11% of voters. Brown received around 680,000 votes or 35.28% of voters. The third candidate, democrat Manka Dhingra received almost 436,000 votes or 22.54% of voters.
