Pellicciotti leading in State Treasurer polls
OLYMPIA – Democrat incumbent Mike Pellicciotti is leading the polls for State Treasurer with 58.09% of voters. His opponent, Republican Sharon Hanek has 41.81% of voters.
However, as votes continue to be counted, the winner could change until the County Canvassing Boards certify and transmit the results to the Secretary of State’s Office Nov. 26 and the Secretary of State certifies the election Dec. 5.
State-wide as of Nov. 6, at 4:43 p.m. Pellicciotti received around 1.6 million votes and Hanek received around 1.1 million votes.
However, in Grant County, as of Nov. 6 at 5:02 p.m., Hanek is a clear winner with 70.81% of voters and 13,429 votes. Pellicciotti received 29.11% of voters and 5,521 votes.
A similar trend happened in Adams County, as of Nov. 5, with Hanek leading the polls with 76.55% of voters and 2,128 votes. Pellicciotti trailed with 23.42% of voters and 651 votes.
Pellicciotti also won the Aug. 6 primary election with almost 1.12 million votes and 52.84% of the majority. Hanek received around 800,000 votes and 43.64% of voters in the primary.
