Open house set for Reclamation fire station
GRAND COULEE — Construction work at the Bureau of Reclamation fire station is near completion near the west gate to the Grand Coulee Power Office near the intersection of Highway 155 and B Street.
Reclamation invites the public to an open house at the new facility June 4 from 4-6 p.m. Visitors should park at Pole Park and traffic control will be there to ensure visitors’ safety for the open house. Handicap-accessible parking is available at the fire station’s parking lot.
The 22,000-square-foot facility provides space for vehicle and equipment storage, along with separate crew areas for sleeping and dining, meeting/training rooms, offices, and a public reception area, according to a Reclamation press release. Completion of the fire station will help ensure reliable protection for Reclamation facilities and lands and assist local communities and other agencies through mutual-aid agreements. Fire crews will transition into the building following the completion and operations will begin thereafter.
