GALLERY: GCAO pets looking for homes
MOSES LAKE — Grant County Animal Outreach is over capacity and asking for the community to consider adoption or fostering to help out. The shelter has a capacity of 47 dogs, but many animals are paired up in kennels where possible to accommodate the roughly 150 animals they’re currently caring for.
Work is underway to plan and build a new, larger facility, GCAO staff said, but help in the interim from the community is appreciated.
The shelter has a variety of dogs and cats that need permanent homes, including a litter of puppies that are just under four months old.

Hey there – I don’t suppose you have any snacks? No? Well, if you happen to find any, I can help you eat them. My name’s Iris and I’m a little over two years old and I’ve got the best of retriever and labrador breeding. I’d love to show you how smart and loyal I can be and, frankly, help you with any oversupplies of snacks. Did I mention I like snacks?
My name’s Nikki and I’m waiting for a friend to come fall in love with me at Grant County Animal Outreach. I’m a bit German Shepherd, a bit something else, and all loveable. With my butterscotch, black and gray coat, I love a good snuggle and a cool floor to lie down on. Let’s hang out and see if we’re a match made in pupper heaven.
Jay Z here. I’m more of an emcee than the fella I was named after though. It’s the puppy dog eyes. They give me a natural advantage in anything that comes along. I’m just about four months old and I’m ready to go home with you, love you forever and make sure you’re as spoiled as you make me. Let’s chill together and see what works out.
Hey folks. My name is Sammi and I’m a little over five years old. I came to Grant County Animal Outreach after I was hit by a car and the Animal Control folks brought me in to be taken care of. I’ve learned that people can be really awesome and I really just want to play with my bipedal friends and snuggle as much as possible. I’ve been at the shelter a while now, and I’d really love a furrever family.
