William Eric Galliart

| May 6, 2024 11:18 AM

William Eric Galliart, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at home in Moses Lake, Washington, on April 30, 2024, during his battle with cancer. Eric was born in Pratt, KS, on January 1, 1960 to Carol and Robert “Bob” Galliart.

Eric grew up in Wichita, Kansas, graduating from Wichita Southeast High School in 1978. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, to study agriculture with a goal of one day owning his own farm. While that specific goal was not attained, his work gravitated toward other outdoor and agriculture-related pursuits. His parents moved to the Seattle area in 1978, and Eric followed a few years later, moving from Wichita to Bellevue, Washington, where he met Teresa Miller who would later become his wife.

He worked for Boeing both in Seattle and Glasgow, Montana, in support of Boeing Flight Test operations. After a short stint in Glasgow, he and Teresa moved back to Washington state and settled in Moses Lake, where they married in 1993 and have lived for over 30 years. He worked for Cenex and then the City of Moses Lake in various senior maintenance roles involving agriculture, parks, and road maintenance, and held several agricultural and other job-required certifications. While at the City of Moses Lake, he talked about the joy of driving a Zamboni and pride in the work he did in the community.

Eric and his dad spent time together bird hunting in both Kansas and Washington. Eric was somewhat of an audiophile as a teenager and throughout his life, enjoying primarily classic rock and modern country music, as well as other genres. He also loved traveling, especially the family vacations on cruises taken to the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and Alaska. Eric was devoted to his family, home and country. We will always remember his adventurous, fun-loving and sometimes mischievous spirit; his sly sense of humor; and his huge heart for caring about others. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in eternal peace.

Eric is survived by his wife Teresa Galliart, Moses Lake, Washington; stepdaughter Christina Miller (Ron Jacobson) and family, Spokane, Washington; sister Maria DeHaven, Federal Way, Washington; aunt Kay (Paul) Young, Wichita, Kansas; cousins Alisha Ontiberos, Shannon Stauth, and Melissa Williams; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Carol Galliart.

Funeral services will be held at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake, Washington, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake, Washington.
