YAKIMA — Dance teams from Moses Lake, Quincy, Othello and Royal school districts were among the teams competing in state competition Friday and Saturday at the Yakima Sundome.

The Moses Lake High School Molahiettes qualified in three events, pom, military and kick routines. The Molahiettes are the defending state champions in 4A pom and military.

The Othello Huskies competed Saturday in 2A hip-hop and pom, and were the defending hip-hop state champs. They finished third in 2A pom in 2023.

Royal also qualified for two events in 2024, 1A kick and military. The Knights are the defending champions in the 1A military category.

Quincy competed in the 1A dance category in 2024; the Jacks did not qualify for state in 2023.

Results were not available at press time, but the Columbia Basin Herald will have more information on how the local teams did next week.
