PASCO — The license of a Franklin County pharmacy technician was suspended by the Washington Department of Health after she allegedly diverted opiates from the pharmacy where she was working.

Elizabeth Marie Quintero’s license was suspended after a hearing March 1 and was announced by DOH on Tuesday in a press release. Quintero allegedly diverted oxycodone and hydrocodone from the pharmacy where she worked. Following an internal investigation by her employer she allegedly admitted diverting 1,000 tablets, saying they were for her own use following a car accident, the press release said.

Quintero has been charged in Pasco Municipal Court with theft.

Quintero has 20 days to respond to the charges, the press release said.
