MOSES LAKE — A classic game for a good cause — a whole list of good causes, in fact — will be the goal of a Bingo night sponsored by Care Moses Lake. Bingo is scheduled for 5 p.m. July 13

at the Moses Lake Event Center, 1312 S. Moses Lake Ave.

“All proceeds from the event will stay local and support local nonprofits,” wrote Michaelle Boetger, Care Moses Lake founder. “I love playing Bingo and we wanted to do something different. We hope we can do this event annually.”

Participants can pay $20 for 15 bingo cards, or $30 for cards and a meal from A-Crew BBQ, along with music from Dale Roth productions and dancing after Bingo.

Grant County Sheriff Joe Kriete will be calling the games.

A raffle is planned with tickets for 10 baskets. Proceeds from the raffle will go to Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin, Columbia Basin K-9s, Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation, the Viking Food Pantry at Big Bend Community College, New Hope/Kids Hope, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake, Central Basin Community Concert Association and Columbia Basin Allied Arts, Grant County Animal Outreach and the Downtown Moses Lake Association.

Boetger wrote that  Care Moses Lake is working with the Moses Lake Grocery Outlet and its “Independence from Hunger” campaign during July. That prompted her to schedule the fundraiser for July. Participants will have the chance to donate to the Independence from Hunger campaign during Bingo night.

Boetger said she’s been involved in charitable opportunities since she moved to town in 2007.

“It’s so important for everyone to do their part. It really does make a difference,” she wrote. “Whether you can volunteer your time, make a financial donation or use your voice to let others know about local groups, it really helps.

“There are more than 50 nonprofits and service organizations playing an important role in Moses Lake,” she added. “Whether you feel passionate about helping local youth, the animals, feeding those in need, joining a service group, whatever it might be, there’s a group you can support.”
