Francese Hall

| June 18, 2024 1:28 PM

Francese Kay Hall, age 78, of Moses Lake, Wash., passed away June 13, 2024. Fran was born in Barre, Vt., to Clarence and Freda Hopson.

Fran was a caring, active person, who loved life and enjoyed many friends. Her primary sport was snow skiing at which she excelled. She also particularly enjoyed kayaking with her friends, The Kayak Chics, and traveling the world with the people she loved. Always up for adventure, she trekked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, walked the Great Wall in China, and dove 130 feet into the Blue Hole in Belize. Her last trip this past fall was a beautiful quest hopping trains through Switzerland with her husband of 57 years, Wayne.

Strong community was important to her. As a survivor of breast cancer in 1983, she fought back by organizing the first 24-Hour Run to Fight Cancer in Moses Lake. She was a proud member of Moses Lake Soroptimist, devoting time to local charities benefiting women and children.

Fran had many interests including art which she studied at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Fran and her husband were co-owners of Old Homestead Mortgage & Escrow in Moses Lake before retiring in 2010.

She was preceded in death by son Michael, daughter Christine, and parents Hop and Freda.

Fran is survived by husband Wayne, daughter Robin Rosdahl Hall (husband Andrew), grandson Sage Utter, granddaughter Lindsay Hall (fiancée Robert), her sister, Barbara Cheney (husband Alan) and family, brother Scott Hopson and family, brother-in-law Byron, sister-in-law Janet and family, and countless friends she considered family.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

Francese Hall loved snow skiing and spending time with her husband, family and friends. She leaves behind a family - both by blood and by spirit - that misses her greatly.
