WILMINGTON, Del. — Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has been convicted of three felony charges stemming from the purchase of a revolver in 2018. The charges are based on a form wherein the President’s son indicated he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs.

Witnesses indicated that Hunter Biden was using drugs during that time and that he’d falsified the information.

The President said in a statement after the verdict was read that he would respect the judicial process as his son considers an appeal. He had previously said he would not pardon his son out of respect for the justice system.

The maximum penalty for the convictions is 25 years in prison, though that will be up to U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika. It is unlikely that he would serve that much time as a first-time offender.
