EPHRATA — The Ephrata School District will be offering both on-site and grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals for children over the summer, according to a press release from the district.

On-site meals will be available Monday through Thursday at Ephrata High School and Columbia Ridge Elementary. Grab-and-go meals will be available for pick-up twice a week and will provide breakfasts and lunches for seven days. The drive-thru pick-up line for those meals will operate Mondays and Thursdays from 12-1 p.m.

“Funding for the on-site and grab-and-go meals comes entirely from the United States Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program. This federally funded, state-administered program reimburses program operators, like the Ephrata School District, who serve no-cost, healthy meals and snacks to children and teens,” the release said.

Area children can obtain the food through the school district’s service thanks to that federal funding which works to ensure children in homes facing food insecurity have access to nutritious meals during the summer.
