OTHELLO — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a request for mutual aid from the Washington State Patrol for a reckless driver in the area of the intersection of State Route 17 and W. Foley Road north of Othello, according to an ACSO statement.
When they contacted the vehicle’s driver, they found that he was armed and had threatened to kill the complainant. Deputies conducted a hi-risk traffic stop and took Brian Valentin Bahena, 23, of Othello into custody without incident. He was booked on Felony Harassment, Carry of a Weapon Without a Concealed Pistol License and DUI.
ROYAL CITY — Royal Slope Fire and Rescue encountered a tractor with a trailer of burning hay Friday afternoon at about 1 p.m. at the corner of Road E. SW and State Route 26. Firefighters used fire retardant foam from a remote-controlled nozzle to extinguish the fire. Nobody was injured.
WASHTUCNA — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has invited the public to a community connection event in Washtucna at Sonny’s — 250 Main St. — for a chance to meet officers and discuss issues related to ACSO. The event begins at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3.
