COLUMBIA BASIN — It’s June, school is almost out, summer is dead ahead and there will be lots of things to do in the Columbia Basin.
June 3
Warden Farmers Market
A celebration of local food with fresh produce, local farms and entertainment at U Rock Ranch. Held on the first Monday of every month. U Rock Ranch, 465 Road T N.E., Warden, 5-8 p.m.
June 4
Big Bend Community College Percussion ensemble “Funky Bucket” concert

Big Bend Community College Guitar ensemble

The Little Big Show
It’s one of the biggest events in Wilson Creek - it’s right there in the title. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, basically anything with wheels, are invited to the Little Big Show. Participants are encouraged to register in advance at the Little Big Show website, www.thelittlebigshow.com.
Worksource Hiring Event

June 7-8
Sage ‘n Sun Festival
The 112th Sage ‘n Sun festival will take to the streets and Grant County Courthouse lawn with music and the annual parade. Three bands are scheduled for Friday night, and three more for Saturday night. The annual parade will roll and walk down Basin Street Southwest at 11 a.m. https://www.ephratachamber.org/
Grant County Historical Museum
The museum, 742 Basin St. SW, Ephrata, opens its doors for the summer with a car show, face painting barbecue and other activities immediately following the Sage ‘n Sun parade. Activities include stick horse races for children and an Old West shootout on the museum’s Main Street.
June 8
“Before the Bomb: Old Hanford”
The Quincy Valley Historical Society & Museum sponsors a series of bus tours each summer, and June 2024 is a look at Hanford before it became a center for production of atomic bomb components. Part of the tour is a look at the remains of Hanford High School, which became offices, then a military training site. Bus leaves for the Hanford Manhattan Project Historical Site at 8:45 a.m., advance registration required; reservations can be made at www.qvhsm.org.

Tenth Annual Senior Picnic
“It’s Tiki Time” will be the theme of the 10th annual Senior Picnic and Resource Fair in the Commercial Building at the Grant County Fairgrounds. It’s free for seniors.
Along with lunch and live music, seniors will receive goodie bags and door prizes. Organizations also will be providing information about services available to seniors. Grant County Fairgrounds, 3953 Airway DR. NE, Moses Lake. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bring Your Own Book Club

Mattawa Movie in the Park
Watch Disney’s Elemental and kick off summer with a bike party at Hund Memorial Park. The movie is sponsored by Heritage University. Bring your own blankets and chairs. Hund Memorial Park, 101 Government Rd., Mattawa, 4-9:30 p.m.

Moses Lake Air Show
Along with aerial acrobatic performances, the show includes the US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II and C-17 Globemaster II demonstration teams, acrobatic demonstrations from radio controlled aircraft and ground displays. Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic
Sagehills Veterinary Services will be offering low-cost parvo and rabies shots to the community, as well as microchips and dog licenses. Fly-In Breakfast
The Desert Aire Airport is putting on its annual Fly-In Breakfast in one of the airport’s hangars.

Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom
The Moses Lake Martin Luther King Jr. Committee will sponsor commemoration of Juneteenth with great speakers, music and a community picnic. Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park, 401 West Fourth Ave, Moses Lake, 2-6 p.m.
June 20
Mariachi, Music & Me!
Join Mariachi Noroeste for performances featuring traditional Mexican music in an interactive format. Audience members will be able to learn about the band’s instruments and outfits in this cultural and musical experience. This all-ages program is bilingual in English and Spanish. Summer Concert Series
The Wenatchee Big Band will kick off the series of free concerts throughout the summer sponsored by the Moses Lake Creative District. The Wenatchee Big Band features the classics from the Swing era. Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park, 401 West Fourth Ave, Moses Lake, 8 p.m.

Summer Concert Series
Santa Poco takes the stage for the second free concert sponsored by the Moses Lake Creative District. Seattle-based Santa Poco focuses on a contemporary country sound. Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park, 401 West Fourth Ave, Moses Lake, 8 p.m.
