MOSES LAKE — A Selah woman has been booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of a controlled substance homicide in connection with the death of a Moses Lake man.

Yvonne Sauter, 56, was booked after Moses Lake Police Department officers identified her as a person of interest in the death of Jesus Delgado, 48, according to a MLPD press release.

Delgado was found dead July 19 at his home, the press release said.

“Officers felt it was a suspicious death and requested detectives,” the release said. “(Police department) detectives responded and based on the scene began a controlled substance homicide investigation.

“Using data from the victim’s phones, detectives were able to identify a person of interest and after further investigation arrested the suspect in Yakima,” the release said. “Investigation revealed the suspect had delivered fentanyl powder to the victim.”

The MLPD was assisted by the Yakima Police Department and the Yakima drug task force LEAD in making the arrest.
