Moses Lake PD

July 18

Report of an unidentified person damaging the reporting party’s boat and stealing items from the boat. Police found the subject cut the boat cover, removed subwoofers and amps, and damaged wiring in the boat. The subject(s) placed the cover back on the boat. Damages and loss are estimated at over $2,000.

Report of a lost pitbull or bully mix walking around West Lakeshore Drive. Reporting party is holding onto the dog until the owner is contacted.

Report of verbal assault over tacos in the library parking lot. No assault occurred. 

Report of a subject stealing various items from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road by flashing an old receipt. He avoided points of sale. The subject was known and previously trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road. He is being charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and retail theft. 

Report of a property manager saying two neighbors were having a dispute. Manager was informed the neighbor could call if she wanted to report anything further. 

Report of a clear baggie with white powder residue in the women's restroom at a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. Police disposed of the baggie.

Report of person yelling and verbal altercation at a residence. Suspect said he was going to ingest fentanyl and left the area on foot.

Report of animal cruelty on West Broadway Avenue. The reporting party said the dog was locked in the vehicle. The police responded and the window was cracked and the dog had access to water.

Report of suspect laying next to the UPS Store. Suspect was gone on arrival.

Report of male and female arguing on South Balsam Street. The argument was verbal only.

Report of a phone and vehicle key found in the 700 block of North Stratford Road. Items are in safe keeping.

Report of a vehicle hit near South Clover Drive. The collision was not observed and no surveillance video was found. 

Report of collision on Alder Street. Pedestrian was crossing the road and vehicle 2 had to slam on brakes. Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 as it did not have time to stop. Pedestrian was not crossing in the crosswalk and could not be seen by vehicle 2 as the pedestrian was at the bottom of a hill.

Report of collision at the intersection of West Fifth Avenue and South Division Street. Vehicle 1 rear-ended vehicle 2.

Report of suspect hitting reporting party in the leg with her walker while arguing over blender parts. Reporting party stated the suspect has been having issues ever since the suspect's husband started divorce proceedings. Suspect claimed she did not hit the reporting party with the walker and the reporting party yelled at the suspect. 

Report of erratic driver on West Valley Road. They were driving away from city limits.

Report of trespassed person a business in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way.

Report of a suspect leaving a construction site with bolt cutters on West Sandy Street and North Montana Street. 

Report of subjects trespassing at Civic Park after hours. Subjects were advised to leave the area.

Report of physical domestic violence on Alderwood Drive. Female was taken into custody for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. Female required medical treatment and transport to Samaritan.

July 19

Report of speeding vehicles near South Balsam Street. Children were playing basketball and drivers were not slowing down.

Report of several suspects loitering around a business in the 600 block of North Stratford Road. Suspects left walking away from the business. 

Report of bike theft from a business in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way. Reporting party said the bike is spray painted white with "Chala'' written on the frame in black. Reporting party also stated the front tires are larger than the rear. Bike valued around $200 to $300.

Report of an unknown white male at a gas station shouting loudly "You're all dead." Police responded and checked video surveillance. Police were unable to identify the license plate of the vehicle.

Report of suspect at a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. who had been previously trespassed. Suspect bought several items. Suspect was contacted and has been trespassed for 99 years.

Report of a store manager locating a syringe near the cash registers at a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. Police disposed of the syringe. 

July 20 

Report of male sleeping on the General Laundry’s front steps. Police trespassed male from the property. 

Report of cold burglary at West Valley Road. Suspect was found and booked into Grant County Jail.

Report of suspect leaving Safeway with multiple items and did not pay. 

Report of verbal argument near Highland Drive North East parties were separated to prevent escalation. 

Report of a hit-and-run accident in the 700 block of North Stratford Road. 

Report of vehicle hitting curb near North Owen Road. The vehicle was towed due to axle damage. 

Multiple reports of vehicle and pedestrian collision in the parking lot. No suspects or victims were identified. 

Report of a male individual doing drugs near Moses Lake Liquor and Wine. Suspect was gone on arrival.

Report of two suspects attempting to steal a $2,153 air conditioning unit from a business in the 1400 block of East Yonezawa Boulevard.. Suspects passed all points of sale and were confronted outside the store by police. Suspects charged with second-degree theft

Report of a theft of a bike from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road. Loss prevention retained the item. 

Report of a hit-and-run collision. Victim’s car was legally parked on the side of the roadway. Victim vehicle driver's side door was caved in and dented with white paint transfer. Photos taken. No suspect vehicle located during canvassing neighborhood cameras.

Report of suspect in the bathroom of Ernie's Truck Stop causing a disturbance. Suspect was escorted out and permanently trespassed. 

Report of suspect walking around apartment complex bleeding from his hand near South Balsam Street. Suspect located in his apartment and found to have accidentally self inflicted cut on his hand. Suspect transported to hospital by the Moses Lake Fire Department. 

Report of person racing by West Shelby Street. Officers checked and did not locate the vehicle. 

Report of suspicious couple by West Knolls Vista Drive. Couple was playing Pokemon Go. 

Report of suspect attempting to puncture a hole in the radiator hose of his father's vehicle and his brother prevented him from doing so. Suspect was booked into Grant County Jail.

July 21

Report of a male trespassing in the parking lot. Homeless male was sleeping in the parking lot covered by a blanket. The male was told to move in order for him not to get run over by a vehicle.

Report of a fraudulent check in the mail. Officer responded and took possession of the check at the reporting party’s request.

Report of a previously trespassed person inside a business in the 500 block of South Pioneer Way. 

Report of an individual who was trespassed the night prior was sleeping on the property at a business in the 1800 block of East Kittelson Road. Police responded and contacted the individual. Police filled out a trespass form with the reporting party and advised the individual he was permanently trespassed from the business. Individual refused to sign the form. Individual left the property. The form was uploaded to the case file.

Report of a used needle on Knolls Vista Elementary by the bleaches. Police disposed of the needle. 

Report of a white Dodge leaking gas from the rear of the vehicle driving on SR 17. Police observed the vehicle pull into a parking lot. Law enforcement spoke with the driver of the vehicle. Police did not observe any liquid leaking from the truck.

Report of a black dog running at large. Police arrived near South Ashcroft Place and observed the dog to be a new mother with unknown location of the pups. Police decided not to take the dog so it could return to its pups.

Report that someone stole the reporting party’s mail during the night. The reporting party also reported a lot of drug activity occurring one block over and believes they might be the one stealing her mail. The reporting party is requesting extra patrols at night.

Report of an intoxicated male unable to keep his balance while walking back to his vehicle from a restaurant. Police contacted the male who was sitting inside of his vehicle. The vehicle was off and not running. The male stated he had a couple of drinks but was not planning on driving until he sobered up. The male was advised if he started driving he could be arrested for DUI. The male stated he understood.

Report of man walking into a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road and stealing a bike. Suspect remains unknown. 

Report of a man going to a business in the 800 block of North Stratford Road this morning for food. Reporting party gave the employee his Cash App card to pay for the food. The employee pocketed the card and made transactions later in the morning with the reporting party's card. Police contacted the reporting party at his residence.

Report of a male and female stealing a tent and a tarp at a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road after purchase did not go through. Suspects have not been identified.

Report of unknown suspect stealing a $79 camera from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road and fleeing the store on foot. 

Report of a potential group of four juveniles prowling vehicles but nothing was found.

July 22

Report of vehicle failing to yield and officers were staying ahead to attempt to spike the tires. The vehicle crashed near Road R Northeast and North Frontage Road East. 

Report of subjects loitering behind a business for the last several days near West Broadway Avenue. Police drove on the bike path behind the building and saw two homeless subjects sitting on the grass and not behind the reporting party’s business. 

Report of male subject trespassing at a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. Male was contacted and signed a trespass form.

Report of a back window being shot with a BB gun. Reporting party showed police the video of the possible suspect. The video has audio and police did not hear shots coming from the truck. The suspect remains unknown at this time. 

Report of an accident occurring on private property. Police assisted in the exchange of information. The driver of vehicle 1 was driving through the parking lot when she crashed into the parked trailer. The owner of vehicle 2, stated he parked to get some stuff and was out of the vehicle when the trailer was struck by vehicle 1.

Report of a male with no shirt acting aggressively in the 400 block of South Balsam Street. Suspect was gone when police arrived. 

Report of a male trespassing and camping behind a business on East Broadway Avenue. The male was contacted and asked to leave. The male left without incident.

Report of unknown male subject in a blue Audi with no plates in the parking lot of a business in the 2300 block of South Maiers Road. Reporting party advised he was unsure if the male was only making punching motions or hitting a female who was in the passenger seat. Car was gone when police arrived. 

Report of a bumper that was left in the roadway between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. near South Balsam Street. Vehicle was parked behind the residence. Photos were taken of the bumper and plates. 

Report of a person saying her package was dropped off at the wrong address and had a photo from the delivery service where the package was left. The reporting party went to the residence to retrieve her package but no one came to the door. The reporting party could hear kids inside the residence at the time she attempted contact. Officers finally made contact with the homeowner and recovered the package which was later given to the reporting party.

Report of a cold hit and run. Unknown when or where the collision occurred. Reporting party was provided with information to report the collision.

Report of subjects smoking drugs near the fire exit of the library. Police arrived on scene and removed the subjects from blocking the exit. 

Report of a vehicle being struck while the reporting party was inside a store. 

Report of abandoned vehicle parked on the roadway in front of the property on West Sunset Drive. Police checked the area and all vehicles appeared to have updated registrations with no signs of abandonment.

Report of damaged plastic box protecting cable wires on the outside of the reporting party’s residence on West Concord Avenue. Police unable to determine cause.

Report of two subjects observed on camera within a fenced construction area. Officers with K-9 searched property and buildings but no one was located. Police attempted to get video or still photos of the suspect but none have been provided.

Report of collision with a parked vehicle. Reporting party was traveling south on Juniper Drive when her child distracted her and she struck the vehicle. No injuries and the reporting party’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

Report of subject sleeping parked in the roadway. Officers contacted the subject and she said she drove from California to see her niece. Officers were unable to detect any signs of the driver being under the influence. The subject said she had not slept in three days since driving from California. Officers moved the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway and let the subject go back to sleep.

Report of stalled vehicle at the intersection of Alder Street and East Broadway Avenue. Police located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way with a flat tire. Driver was warned not to be on the roadway if impaired. Sobriety tests not administered.

Report of unknown suspects painting in a bathroom at Blue Heron Park. 

Report of a reporting party saying she was having marital problems with the subject and they were in verbal argument. He pushed her hands causing her to back into a nightstand. Reporting party complained of pain at that time but did not have any visible injuries. Officer assisted the reporting party with contacting New Hope and she was placed in a local hotel. 

July 23

Report of suspect using drugs in the bathroom of a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. Officers located the suspect in the restroom with drug paraphernalia. The suspect denied using the drugs. The suspect was previously trespassed for a similar incident. The reporting party said they wanted to press charges for first-degree criminal trespassing.  

Report of collision on Division Street. Vehicle 1 and vehicle 2 were northbound on Division. Vehicle 1 rear-ended vehicle 2 at a high rate of speed after cresting a hill at Division and East Nelson Road. Vehicle 1 had multiple airbag deployments including driver, passenger, and passenger side curtain. Driver one admitted to looking away from the roadway, before merging into the center turn lane, to make a left-hand turn, just prior to this traffic accident. Vehicle 1 sustained reportable damage to the front bumper and front windshield. Vehicle 2 sustained reportable damage to the rear bumper.



Ephrata PD

July 18

Report of unknown caller claiming to be with Chase Bank. Reporting party allowed access remotely to her computer and was scammed into sending 7,000 worth of money via gift cards. 

Report of damage caused to a water faucet in the 10 block of D Street Northeast..

Report of someone trying to break into the reporting party’s backdoor resulting in the lock breaking. 

July 19

Report of green BMX bike found in the reporting party’s yard. Reporting party believed it was stolen. Due to damage the bike was disposed of.

Report of fire in neighbor's yard who said they had a firepit going but had extinguished it. 

July 20

Report of a person throwing a beer bottle by the canal. Police found suspected meth. Suspects said they were just wanting to swim in the canal and the police advised them not to. 

Report of a grenade left at a residence. Reporting party said she left a "Tweaker" to tend to her yard while she vacationed. Upon arrival found a grenade on the back door. Grenade inert. Yakima Army Bomb Squad called and took possession of the device for disposal.

Report of juveniles stealing alcohol from a business in the 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest. 

Report of suspect at a business in the 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest who had been previously trespassed. Suspect cited for second-degree trespassing. 

July 21

Report of domestic violence in the dirt lot behind a business in the 1000 block of Basin Street Southwest. Suspect grabbed the victim's arm leaving marks. Suspect arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Report of a traffic accident. vehicle 1 was parked next to vehicle 2 and while vehicle 1 was pulling out of parking space they made impact with vehicle 2 front driver’s side panel, causing notable damage. 

Report of a two-vehicle collision on East Street South West. vehicle 1 sideswiped vehicle 2. vehicle 2 was parked and unoccupied. Vehicle 1 ran through fields, no intoxication evident. vehicle 1 plate did not match the vehicle. Plate seized and driver 1 cited for several incidents. 

Report of suspect lighting fireworks. Suspect said he was doing small poppers and had a hose nearby and told police he stopped as soon as someone complained. A warning was given. 

July 22

Report of male suspect tied to a pole and in distress while panhandling. Suspect was advised to move along and left the area without incident.

Report of theft of a bicycle in the 10 block of H Street Southeast. Reporting party said the theft occurred in the early morning on July 19.

Report of damage to a vehicle in the 100 block of  Basin Street Northwest. Reporting party said the vehicle had been parked all day along Basin Street. Reporting party found the back window broken. Police think that a possible rock from passing cars may have caused it. 

Report of subject spinning doughnuts in gravel at skate park. Suspect contacted and asked to leave the park for the day.

July 24

Report of cold domestic violence reported by a third party. Victim in the emergency room and being seen for domestic violence related injuries. 

Report of threat, Reporting party waved down officer and reported they were being stalked. Reporting party told the officer she had received texts from someone saying they liked how the reporting party and her daughter looked. Reporting party said other texts indicate the suspect is following her and also texted the reporting party her address.
