14U softball tournament hits Moses Lake

Seventeen teams traveled to Moses Lake for last weekend’s USA Softball of Washington B State Tournament, which was held at both Larson Playfields and the Paul Lauzier Athletic Complex.
MOSES LAKE — Seventeen softball teams from across the state — and one from Idaho — competed in the USA Softball of Washington 14U B State Tournament in Moses Lake this weekend, hosted at Larson Playfields and the Paul Lauzier Athletic Complex.
The Ai Bandits Orange 12U, Puyallup, came out on top of the tournament, going 5-1 on the weekend with a 14-0 win over the Ellensburg Synergy 14U, a 6-5 win over the Washington Rage 14U, a 12-4 win over the 14U Maniacs and an 18-8 win over the NCW Sun Devils to reach the championship game.
The Bandits matched up with Titans 14U, from Port Orchard, in the championship; the Titans won the first game 10-9, with the Bandits winning the elimination game 10-4 to win the tournament.
The lone Basin team in attendance was the Washington Rage 14U, who went 1-2 at the tournament; the Rage opened with a 5-4 win over E1, from Richland, and fell 6-5 to the eventual champion Bandits in the second round. The Rage lost 15-12 to the NW Thunder in the consolation bracket.
