Shruumz recalled products cause illness in Grant Co.
MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Health District is urging people to avoid eating, serving or selling Diamond Shruumz products. “(The health district) is responding to a report of serious intoxication and hospitalization of a Grant County resident linked to consumption of these products,” according to a GCHD press release.
The Centers for Disease Control and Federal Drug Administration are investigating multiple reports of illness and adverse reactions after eating the company’s products. Diamond Shruumz were recalled in June, the press release said.
“However, it was discovered by GCHD staff that some of these products were being sold as recently as (Friday) and may still be present in our community,” the press release said. “The discovered recalled products were removed from sale.”
The company sells chocolate bars, cones and gummies marketed as containing a proprietary brand of mushroom, the GCHD press release said.
