July 12
‘You’re killin’ me, Smalls’
Head out to Lions Park in Othello for a screening of the movie “The Sandlot” and see how baseball, a sense of adventure and James Earl Jones combine for an awesome story. The screening of this PG-rated feature is free, and the City of Othello is hosting the event. Movie is set to begin at 8:45 p.m. Call 509-488-5686 for more information.
‘Vanishing Rural America’
Join the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center in opening the exhibit by Whidbey Island painter Deon Matzen. Free refreshments plus Art After Hours, an adult art session featuring barn wood painting. 4 p.m. at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S. Balsam Street. Info: 509-764-3830.

Summerfest
Royal City pulls out the stops for its annual community festival. Parade, car show, bouncy houses, mutton bustin’ and more. Fireworks Friday at dusk and parade Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Info: www.royalcitysummerfest.org.

Soap Lake Food and Folk Festival
Bring your picnic blanket, get some snacks and claim your spot at Smokiam Park for a day of music of all styles, plus food and craft vendors. Info: bit.ly/SLFoodnFolk24.
Goat Yoga
Cloudview Farm hosts goat yoga periodically throughout the summer to allow people to come out, enjoy the farm and focus on their health – while surrounded by adorable goats. 2024 Bingo Fundraiser
Care Moses Lake is excited to have Grant County Sheriff Joey Kriete emcee a community bingo night at the Moses Lake Event Center. Proceeds from the event will support Boys & Girls Clubs, the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation, Columbia Basin K9s, Big Bend Community College’s Viking Food Pantry, New Hope/Kids Hope, Habitat for Humanity, Youth Dynamics, Central Basin Community Concert Association, Columbia Basin Allied Arts, the Downtown Moses Lake Association and other local nonprofits serving Moses Lake and the surrounding area. Tickets are $30 and include a taco plate from A Crew BBQ & Catering, two drink tokens and DJ’d music by Dale Roth. Larry McCourtie Golf Tourney
Take a swing with some friends in this golf scramble tournament at the Othello Golf Course at 2269 W Mockingbird Lane. Entry is $100 per person with teams of four people for the scramble. Blink 182 at The Gorge
The Gorge Amphitheater will host Blink 182 for rock and alternative fans on a Sunday. Ticket prices start at $115 plus fees and processing and prices may vary depending on how and where tickets are purchased. Pierce the Veil will join the band as the opener for the show. https://bit.ly/BLINKGORGE

Purple Party!
Join those trying to kick Alzheimer’s Disease to the curb at the Purple Party at the Porterhouse Steakhouse in cooperation with the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce. The party serves as a fundraising event – and a chance for some fun with other community members – to support the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. at the restaurant at 217 N. Elder Street in Moses Lake. Entry to the Purple Party is free and Walk to End Alzheimer’s teams will be able to coordinate and plan.
