Diana Kay Rose
Diana Kay Rose, 66, passed away peacefully in her home Jan. 22, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family and pets.
Diana was born to Ruth Ann Rose and Earl Rose in Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 9, 1957. She had a deep passion for horses, which began when her father gifted her Katchina, a brown and white pinto horse. She would often race with her friends in the Peninsula neighborhood in Moses Lake. Diana was a brilliant student and member of the Honor Society, where she was voted vice president. She set records for the longest time holding a GPA of 4.0 at Frontier Middle School. Diana had a scholarship for advertising art in Spokane but finished at Big Bend Community College, earning her associate's degree while being a single mother to her daughter, Falisha. Diana had various jobs, from working at the Moses Lake Fire Department and Columbia Basin Herald to social work with disabled adults. Like her mother, Diana was unafraid to change professions to support herself and her family.
Diana was a gifted artist and passionate about family and yard work. She was the primary organizer of family gatherings and helped her mother with them. These gatherings created wonderful memories for everyone. Later, she dedicated herself to caring for her mother and her grandson Jaeden. She adopted Jaeden, and she was his sole care. Diana enjoyed retirement at her home and made it a loving place. Unfortunately, her life was cut short after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She had loving support from her family and hospice care during her final days.
Diana is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth Ann and Earl Rose, and her brother, Richard Rose. She is survived by her daughter, Falisha, son Jaeden and grandson Quinn; brother Michael and Sheryl Rose; brother Alan Rose and Linda Wilson; her beloved, Austin Hill; uncle Clyde and Rosalie Langston; aunt Donna Kasten; and countless nieces, nephews, friends and beloved pets.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories at 11 a.m.
