Three BBCC wrestlers place at Boxer Open

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – After a lengthy stretch of no competition, Big Bend Community College Women's Wrestling traveled to Pacific University to Compete in the Boxer Open on Sunday. The break was long and frustrating for the athletes but allowed the Vikings to gain much-needed rest to get to 100% health.

"We had two girls compete who both just got cleared from injuries. They competed well and I'm excited for the rest of the season." said head coach Desiree Zavala.

Even with a long stretch of no competition, the Vikings were able to bring home hardware with three athletes placing in the top three of their weight classes. Samantha Meyers placed second in the 170lb heat, while Natalie Johnson also locked in a second-place finish at 109lbs along with Abby Varaday bringing home third place at 136lbs.
