MOSES LAKE — After a tough loss to open up conference play, the Runnin' Vikes remained on the road as they traveled to Spokane Falls Community College to face off versus the Sasquatch on Wednesday.

BBCC came out of the gate firing, putting together one of their best first halves of the season shooting 61% from the floor along with playing lockdown defense. With the combination of elite defense and efficient shooting, BBCC went into the break up 36-35. Although the Viking shooting cooled off, the defense turned up the heat holding Spokane to 4-28 shooting in the second half. The Falls, being a squad heavily reliant on the deep ball, struggled to manage the relentless Viking defense going 6-33 from beyond the arc. With BBCC finishing the night shooting 49% from the floor and holding the Sasquatch to 30%, BBCC was able to pull away in the final minutes recording their first conference win by a score of 62-54.

"Stifling defense led to an upset road victory over Spokane, along with Gil Gonzalez recording a second straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds," Big Bend Head Coach Jason Hopkins said. "Gideon Harris coming off the bench to pour in 18 and LJ Ginnis continued his strong play at the point guard position with 13 points and 7 rebounds was a huge part of our team success."

After playing 15 of their first 16 games on the road the Vikings host Treasure Valley and Blue Mountain at home in back-to-back games.
