| January 11, 2024 11:58 AM

Helen Jane Miller, 100, was born in Ochelate, Okla., on June 14, 1923, to Christopher and Grace Christenson. Helen was the middle child of five.

On Nov. 7, 1940, she married Perry J. Miller of Stillwater, Okla., who preceded Helen in death in June of 2013. After they married, they moved to Seattle, Wash., where Perry worked for Boeing. Later they moved to Arden, Wash., where they farmed and their first two children, Donna and Diane, were born. They moved later into Colville where their other four children were born: David, Debra, Danny and Wayne.

Perry and Helen owned the original Colville Auction until they sold in 1962 when they moved to Moses Lake to farm again until 1973. They then moved back to Oklahoma to work in the oil fields. They retired in 1999 and moved to Arizona. In September 2009, they moved to Chewelah to be near their daughter Donna and son-in-law Jim Kerst (deceased 2016). Donna still resides at Waitts Lake. After Perry’s death, Helen moved into Donna’s home until her passing.

Their son David Miller remains in Moses Lake with his three daughters, Kristina Jones and family, Julie Garibay and family, and Stacy Orozeo and family. Their daughter Donna Kerst and family and Connie Hedrick and family live in Kalispell, Mont., Dennis Hedrick and family live in Delaplane, Va., Pamela Hedrick and family in Lewiston, Idaho, area. Diane, Debra, Danny and Wayne were all deceased as babies.

A special thank you goes out for the wonderful care Perry and Helen received during their last days from Providence DominiCare caregivers, neighbors, local doctors and Providence St. Joseph Hospital.

Helen celebrated her 100th birthday in June 2023 at her church, New Beginnings Church, in Loon Lake with over 65 family members, friends and caregivers in attendance.

A Celebration of Life was her birthday party; no other service will be held.
