Teen airlifted with life-threatening injuries after crash
MATTAWA — A single-vehicle collision near Mattawa left the driver in the hospital early Friday morning, according to a statement from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Responders were called about 5:30 a.m. to the intersection of Road 24 and Road M Southwest, about 6 miles east of Mattawa, according to the statement. The vehicle had apparently left the roadway, whereupon the 16-year-old driver overcorrected. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the driver.
The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, according to the GCSO.
