Brian Charles Wilson

| January 8, 2024 11:26 AM

Brian C. Wilson, 70, of Moses Lake passed away knowing he was loved, with his wife by his side, in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2024.

Brian was born March 24, 1953, to Ann and Chuck Wilson in Ritzville. He spent his childhood in Moses Lake with his brothers, exploring the fields near their home, playing baseball at Knolls Vista and fishing down by the lake. Summers were always spent with Grandma Rose at the family’s cabin in Loon Lake, which he later enjoyed with his own family.

In high school, Brian met Tami, and their love story began with an invitation to the Sweetheart dance. They married in 1973 and had two children, Courtney and Brady. Brian worked at Lakeside Optical as an optician for over 40 years and eventually co-owned the business with friend Kevin Carvo.

He loved his children and grandchildren and was very involved in everything they did. He was Courtney’s softball coach for many years and enjoyed playing softball himself. Brian was instrumental in the improvements of Larson Playfield, digging holes for the light posts and painting the sponsorship signs. His true passion was duck hunting with Brady and his valued friend Mike Hymes. He loved the Lind Coulee and spent many years hunting there. Brian and Tami had many close friends who have become family. The stories about his friendships and their shenanigans are legendary. I think everyone knows about the iconic “Screwy Lewis and the Bad News” performance at the Miss Moses Lake Pageant in 1987. He also spent many years serving the community through the Lions Club.

Brian was a strong man with integrity, endless patience, and perfectly timed one-line jokes. He left us with a lifetime of stories to tell. His infectious smile and loving eyes will be ingrained in our memories. We could not have asked for a better husband, father, and grandfather.

Brian is survived by his mother, Ann Wilson, and wife of 50 years Tami Wilson; his children, Courtney (Fred) Balderas and Brady (Katie) Wilson; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Sydney, Kenadee and Jordan Balderas and Lennon and Cohen Wilson; his brothers, David (Delores) Wilson, Michael (Janice) Wilson and Lynn (Glory) Wilson; and his brothers-in-law, Michael (Chris) Munson and Tony (Carol) Munson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wilson.
