Patricia Hutton

| February 26, 2024 10:33 AM

Patricia “Pat” Elaine Hutton, 77, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away peacefully Feb. 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Ephrata, Wash., to Alice and Bruno Koziol on May 15, 1946, the second oldest of six children. She graduated from Moses Lake High School and attended Big Bend Community College until 1966, when she married a serviceman, James W. Hutton. While stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base they started their family in September of 1966 with the birth of their first son, Scott Alan. Their second son, James W. Hutton, was born in October of 1967. Sadly, they tragically lost Scott in a drowning accident in May of 1968. They made their home where the Air Force stationed them in places including Spokane, Guam, Oklahoma and Montana. Their third child, a daughter, Cheryl Ann, was born in August of 1971 while stationed in Altus, Okla. After retiring from the military in the summer of 1979 they made their home in Moses Lake.

Pat had many talents and hobbies including ceramics, sewing, collecting various favored items such as beanie babies, sunflowers and jewelry, especially watches.

Pat sold and delivered Avon and worked at Hearthstone Retirement Inn, Andrew’s Hallmark Shop and Walmart during her adult life while tending to her family. But Pat’s most enjoyed and loved passion was her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She spent hours with them doing all sorts of creative projects such as painting gourds, attending and transporting to and from school functions, getting nails done with the girls, riding in the blue truck to DQ for ice cream and especially their memorable walks to the parks.

Mom, you will be missed today and every day forward. I will cherish the memories of our favorite season, as the leaves turn in fall, your silliness, your feistiness and your compassion for others. I promise to take care of your best friend and companion, Lucybelle.

She is survived by her daughter and husband Cheryl and JR Cox, grandson and fiancée Brenden Cox and Julia Page, granddaughter and great-granddaughter Alyssa and Brynnlee Cox, granddaughter Kenzie Cox, grandson Scott Hutton and Sydney Hoyt, great-grandson Devynn Hutton and great-granddaughter Leilynd Hutton.

She is also survived by her sister Terry Hansen (Loren); brothers Kerry Koziol (Diane), Tony Koziol (Deanna) and Doug Koziol (Shelly; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bruno Koziol and Alice Koziol Harrington, stepfather Al Harrington, brother Steve Koziol, husband Skip and two sons Scott Alan and James “Jim” Hutton.
