Peter Hans Ochocinski

Peter Hans Ochocinski, 70, of Royal City, Wash., passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024. Pete was born Nov. 3, 1953, in Delmenhorst, Germany, and later moved to the United States. 

Pete was a dedicated family man, survived by his children, Felicia (Mike) and Cody (Desiree), and his beloved grandchildren, Oakley and Sadie Ochocinski and Braden and Hunter Atnip. He also leaves behind his siblings, Susana, Sam, Terese (Cory) and Matt (Rachel). 

Pete was predeceased by his brother, Ivan, and foster parents Harry and Mary Worbes who welcomed him into their home with open arms and maintained a lifelong relationship. 

After graduating from Royal City High School in 1972, Pete joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Brooks from 1972 to 1976 before transferring into the reserves for another two years. Pete spent his time in the Navy as a swimmer and diver while also training to be an electrician. 

Following his time in the Navy, Pete established a home in Royal City, Wash. He had a 32-year-long career working as a Journeyman Electrician at Lad Irrigation, where he became a friendly face to the farming community in the Columbia Basin. He was well known for his expertise and dedication to his craft.

Pete enjoyed the simple life of gardening, barbecuing, fishing and spending time with his family. 

A small intimate gathering will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, Felicia and Cody request donations to be made to a charity of your choice in memory of our amazing dad Pete.

    During his time in the U.S. Navy, Pete Ochocinski served on the USS Brooks as a swimmer and diver. The USS Brooks, pictured above, was commissioned in June of 1920 and began service in October of that same year according to the U.S. Navy.
