Joyous holiday wishes from the Columbia Basin Herald

| December 25, 2024 3:00 AM

MOSES LAKE – Each year, the holidays seem to come at us a little bit faster with a faster-than-light zip from January to December. At the end of a hectic year though, the staff at the Columbia Basin Herald have plenty to be thankful for and have been fortunate enough to serve the amazing group of communities in Grant and Adams counties.

Below are our wishes for each of you to enjoy the holidays and have a wonderful time with loved ones as you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s Day and all of the other wonderful celebrations in December and early January. Know that we appreciate our readers, our community partners and we look forward to serving the Basin for another year.

Bob Richardson, Regional General Manager, Publisher: I absolutely love the Christmas Season. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and look forward to the extra time I get to spend with them.

We enjoy preparing treats, watching Christmas movies and celebrating our family traditions. Those little things create memories for our family that last forever, and I am lucky enough to see those traditions passed on.

I would also like to take a moment to thank all of our advertisers, subscribers and friends of the Columbia Basin Herald for an amazing year. Without all of you, none of this would be possible. I would also like to thank my team here at the Columbia Basin Herald. I have the best team; they prove day in and day out that what we do really matters.

I wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

R. Hans “Rob” Miller, Managing Editor: Each December, I’m a little less excited about presents and a lot more excited about the people I have been fortunate enough to have in my life. From my amazing team of reporters, to the advertising team that fills the paper’s office with laughter, to the team that ensures the paper is delivered day in and day out throughout the year.

I’m also very lucky to live near my family with my in-laws in Bothell and my hometown in Montana a few hours away. Living a long distance away from family for more than two decades taught me to appreciate them. My hope for all of our readers is that they are surrounded by loved ones, joyful memories and a smidge of mischief this holiday season.

Laurie Herbert, Marketing Consultant: Merry Christmas and happy New Year! May you all enjoy time making memories with your loved ones!

Joel Martin, Senior Reporter: Merry Christmas to all the friends, neighbors and family who make this a great place to live. My wife Christina and I have been blessed to raise our children, and watch our grandchildren grow, in the Columbia Basin and we hope all the Herald’s readers get as much joy from this community as we have.

Cheryl Schweizer, Senior Reporter, Baroness of Bylines: Merry Christmas to all, as Santa exclaimed as he rode out of sight. (It's a poem, a fun poem at that.) Best wishes for Christmas and for a prosperous and peaceful new year.

Becky Simonds, Advertising Sales Representative: Hope everyone had a great year. Sending out my love to all of my friends, family, church family, and coworkers. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Jesus is the reason for the season.

Jeannie Austin, Multimedia Marketing Strategist: May your holidays be filled with love, joy and laughter and your new year bring you new opportunities!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Blaze Griffith-Steele, Receptionist, Legal Advertising Specialist: I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and can take that love and warmth into the new year to everyone you meet!

Caleb Perez, Circulation Customer Service Representative: Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!

Velma Dunkin, Marketing Consultant: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of my clients, colleagues, family and friends. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for all you do.  Your support throughout the year is greatly appreciated.  Best Wishes to all of you.

Cecilia Suarez Johnson, Print Facilitator: Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas filled with peace, love and joy! As we gather to celebrate this beautiful season, let’s remember those who have touched our lives throughout the year. May 2025 bring renewed hope, endless possibilities and happiness to each one of you!

Nance Beston, Reporter: Happy holidays everyone! Thank you for being welcoming and kind as I transitioned to my first job after college, moved out of my home state, Montana and started my life as an official adult. I have been treated with the utmost respect as I have been doing my job and learning at the Columbia Basin Herald.

I look forward to hearing and telling more of this community’s stories but first I need to cuddle into a heap of blankets and complete my annual watch of "Elf." Stay safe during the holidays and as always be kind and patient with one another -- you never know what someone else is going through.

The team here at the paper hopes that all of our readers have a wonderful winter break and a prosperous 2025!
