COLUMBIA BASIN — Grant and Adams counties often show their best off when the holidays roll around each year. Local law enforcement agencies collect money for children to go shopping with officers. Churches hold large gatherings and offer a variety of small and large celebrations and city streets are lit up with twinkling lights and smiling locals out shopping for loved ones.

Here is a look back at past holiday seasons in the Basin. The Columbia Basin Herald team hopes your Christmas, Hanukah and New Years holidays, or any of the many others that occur this time of year, are filled with joy, family and a laugh or 20.

The sheriff’s office is currently collecting donations for its annual Shop with a Cop event through Dec. 15. GCSO partners with the Moses Lake Police Department each year to bring joy to local children.

Bells on Basin returns this Saturday and is organized by the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce. With the Grinch in custody, we’re sure the festivities will go off without a hitch.
