MOSES LAKE — The 2024 football season came to an end across the state last weekend, with six teams earning state championships at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Read along for a look at how teams finished this season, and who won titles in each classification.

State Champion: No. 2 seed Sumner – defeated No. 1 Camas 27-24 on Saturday.
Local
Moses Lake: The Mavericks finished the 2024 season with an 8-2 record, winning the Columbia Basin Big 9 league title for the first time since 2021. Moses Lake fell to Kamiakin in the Week 10 state crossover 49-20.

State Champion: No. 2 O’Dea — defeated No. 1 Bellevue 38-15 on Friday.
No local 3A teams.
2A
State Champion: No. 2 Anacortes – defeated No. 1 Tumwater 20-10 on Saturday.
Local
Ephrata: The Tigers finished the regular season with a 5-5 record, defeating Ellensburg 29-0 in the season finale on Nov. 8. Ephrata finished in fifth place of the Central Washington Athletic Conference league standings.
Othello: Othello won the CWAC with a 7-1 mark in league games this fall, with its lone loss coming to Prosser on Oct. 18. The Huskies won their Week 10 state crossover game against Rogers (Spokane) to punch their ticket into the 2A State Football Tournament, where they fell 22-21 to Sehome in the opening round on Nov. 16.
Quincy: The Jacks ended the 2024 season with a 1-8 record, with their win coming against Wapato 24-12 on Sept. 27.
1A
State Champion: No. 1 Royal – defeated No. 2 Seton Catholic 61-28 on Friday.

Royal: The Knights hoisted the 1A state championship trophy for the fifth consecutive season, eighth time over the last nine seasons and 13th time in program history when they defeated No. 2 seed Seton Catholic 61-28 on Friday in Seattle. Royal (13-0) also won its 11th consecutive South Central Athletic Conference league title this season and outscored opponents 791-109.
Wahluke: Wahluke opened the season with back-to-back wins over Naches Valley (14-13) and Wapato (31-6) but lost their final seven games to end the season at 2-7 overall.
2B
State Champion: No. 1 Okanogan – defeated No. 3 Napavine 52-21 on Saturday.
Local
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague: After a 3-1 start to the season, the Broncos went through a five-game losing streak before ending the season with a 39-28 win over Riverside. LRS ended the season with a 4-6 overall record, going 3-5 in the Northeast 2B league.
Warden: Four losses down the stretch of the 2024 season, including losing on the road against Okanogan in the Week 10 crossover, dropped the Cougars to a 5-5 overall mark this fall. Warden finished fourth in the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference (East).
1B
State Champion: No. 2 Wilbur-Creston-Keller – defeated No. 1 Liberty Christian 42-34 on Friday.
Local
Almira/Coulee-Hartline: The Warriors received the No. 4 seed in the 1B State Football Tournament, reaching the semifinals for the first time since 2021 after back-to-back wins over No. 13 Inchelium (48-0) and No. 5 Neah Bay (14-12) in the first two rounds of the tournament. ACH fell 36-28 to Liberty Christian in the state semifinals, ending their season with a 10-3 record.
MLCA/CCS: In just their second season as a program, the Lions finished in second place of the Central Washington 1B league to clinch a berth into the 1B State Football Tournament, where they lost on the road against No. 3 Naselle in the opening round. The Lions went 5-5 this fall and had a 4-2 record in league games.
Soap Lake: The Eagles finished with a 5-4 overall record this fall, finishing the season in fourth place of the Central Washington 1B league. Soap Lake concluded the season with a 70-14 win over Bridgeport on Nov. 7.
