WDFW looking for new Game Management council members
OLYMPIA — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is currently accepting applications for new members to its Game Management Advisory Council.
WDFW Director Kelly Susewind will appoint eight members to the 18-member council, with terms commencing in 2025.
Applications are open until March 14, 2025, and interested individuals can submit their applications by mail to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, P.O. Box 43141, Olympia, WA 98504-3141; or email a copy to GMAC@dfw.wa.gov.
According to the release, the council aims to provide perspectives on various game management issues including predator and prey management, recruitment and retention of hunters, non-toxic ammunition, hunter access, baiting, wildlife disease and wildlife and human conflicts.
Council members typically serve six-year terms and will begin meetings as early as June 2025. The council meets up to four times a year, with added special meetings, as necessary.
WDFW offers compensation and reimbursements for members' time and related expenses. Compensation rates range from $45 for one hour to $200 maximum per day.
