VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY The Moses Lake City Council has a vacancy on the Municipal Airport Commission. Qualified applicants shall have expertise in: The aviation industry; business administration or operations; finance; accounting; marketing; economic development; commercial real estate development; engineering; planning and construction; law; utilities; or other related experience from industries that have a logical nexus with airport administration, operations, and development pursuant to RCW 14.08.120(a). The purpose of the Airport Commission is to advise the Mayor, City Manager and/or the Public Works Director of the following: construction, enlargement, improvement, maintenance, equipment, and operation of the Moses Lake Municipal Airport facilities, develop a project list and recommendations on the capital needs for the municipal airport, develop comprehensive and long-range plans for airport development and financing, adoption and amendment of rules and regulations for the operation and use of the Moses Lake Municipal Airport facilities, determination of charges or rentals for the use or leasing of any properties owned or under the control of the Moses Lake Municipal Airport and regarding the charges for any services of facilities and the terms and conditions related to the same, promoting and fostering the development of the Moses Lake Municipal Airport for the benefit of the citizens of the City, and maintaining liaison with other governmental bodies regarding municipal airport operations and financing. The Municipal Airport Commission is composed of five members appointed by a majority vote of the City Council without regard to political affiliation. The members of this board are appointed to serve four-year terms. The current vacancy will be for an unexpired term expiring March 31, 2026, with option to request reappointment for a full term.
