COLUMBIA BASIN — The weather is hot. The fun is too. There’s plenty to do in Grant and Adams counties this month and people are set to have a good time. The events below are a wide variety of what the Basin has in store 

Aug. 2-4  

Watershed Festival  

Three-day country music festival featuring Luke Bryan, Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, Dylan Scott, Terri Clark and more. Gorge Amphitheatre, 754 Silica Road, Quincy. Info: watershedfest.com.  

Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 

Open Mic Night 

Read a poem, sing karaoke, play an instrument, tell a story, dance or showcase some other talent. Alcohol- and drug-free experience for all ages every Friday. $1 donation suggested. 5-7 p.m. at the Soap Lake Community Center, 121 Second Ave. SE. Info: 509-246-1913. 

Aug. 5 

Quincy National Night Out 

Join Quincy Police and other first responder agencies for a party in the park. Free hot dogs, chips and ice cream, as well as emergency vehicles to check out, games and informational booths. 5 p.m. at Lauzier Park. Info: 509-787-4718. 

Aug. 6 

Moses Lake National Night Out 

Meet the people who keep the community safe. Snow cones, games, dunk tank and more. 6 p.m. at McCosh Park. Info: 509-764-3887. 

Aug. 6  

Moses Lake Business After Hours  

Join the members of the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce at the “Loadin’ Chute” on the Moses Lake Rodeo Grounds from 5-7 p.m. for networking and fun with fellow members. Aug. 9  

Cowboy Breakfast  

Kick off Grant County Fair week with the Cowboy Breakfast and Pee Wee Stampede. Pancakes, sausage, eggs and coffee, plus a stick horse rodeo for the kids. $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12. 7 a.m. at Sinkiuse Square in downtown Moses Lake. Mattawa National Night Out

Aug. 10  

Hot Desert Nights 

Car show sponsored by the Mattawa/Desert Aire Lions Club. Enter as many cars as you want for $20. Doors open at 11 a.m. at Desert Aire Park. Into: 253-606-9506.  

Outlaw Fest

Aug. 12 & 19  

Free bingo  

Get ready to shout "bingo!" and win some amazing prizes at this fun-filled event. Grant County Fair

Steven Dunlap in concert

Bass Canyon

OMSI Science Festival 

Dive into a world of wonder at the OMSI Science Festival at the Othello library. Explore exciting hands-on activities and mind-blowing experiments that will spark a love of science in young minds. 3-6 p.m. at the Othello Library, 101 E. Main St. Info: 509-488-9683. 

Aug. 21 

Ritzville Summer Festival

Tyler Childers Mule Pull ’24

Aug. 24 

CBHA Run for a Cause

Aug. 29-Sept. 1  

Wheat Land Communities Fair

Dave Matthews Band
