Ephrata PD

April 19

Report of a two-vehicle non-injury collision in the 10 block of H Street Southeast. Vehicle 1 failed to yield the right-of-way to vehicle 2 when merging into traffic and struck vehicle 2’s right front quarter panel.

Report of a house egged in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast.

Report of theft at a business in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Several teenagers attempted to steal BB guns and possibly other items. Suspects fled when confronted by staff.

Report of two vehicles preparing to race on Airport Street near SR 282. Two vehicles left the area and one subject was parked on Airport Street with flashers on. The subject said they were not racing but rather ordering pizza. Officer warned the subject about racing and advised them to order pizza elsewhere.

April 20

Report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks near Second Avenue Northwest. Driver was found to be intoxicated.

Report of a two-vehicle non-injury collision at First Avenue and F Street Northeast.

Report of theft from a business in the 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest. A female subject was putting things in her bag while a male subject was putting items in a basket. The male subject walked out the back of the store.

April 21

Report of a vehicle prowl in the 10 block of K Street Northeast. A gun magazine and some cash were taken.

Report of vandalism in the 300 block of A Street Southeast. A group of juveniles reportedly broke a vehicle windshield.

April 22

Report of a two-vehicle collision at Basin Street and Fourth Avenue Southwest. Driver 1 did not see that vehicle 2 had stopped and rear-ended it. Driver 2 was taken to Columbia Basin Hospital by paramedics for body pain and seizures.

Report of alcohol stolen from a business in the 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest.

April 24

Report of a counterfeit $50 bill passed at a business in the 1100 block of Basin Street Southwest.

Jamie Lee Schafer, 29, Warden, booked on third-degree malicious mischief – domestic violence, as well as Grant County District Court warrants relating to DUI and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock.

April 22

Samuel Craig Peebles, 24, Moses Lake, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence, as well as Grant County District Court warrants relating to reckless driving and third-degree driving with license suspended.

Joseph John Puyu, 28, Moses Lake, booked on Harassment – previous conviction or threats to kill and third-degree malicious mischief.

Roy Michael Osborne, 28, Ephrata, booked on retail theft with special circumstances, as well as a Grant County District Court warrant relating  to fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.

April 18

Report of a reflective work jacket stolen from a work site. A set of keys including the key to the victim’s work truck and $70 in cash were in the jacket.

Report of a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot in the 700 block of North Central Drive. Vehicle 1 rear-ended vehicle 2, then backed up and rear-ended vehicle 2 twice more. Driver of vehicle 1 said he might have been stepping on the wrong pedal. Driver 1 showed no signs of impairment and was evaluated by medics at the scene.

Report of a male and a female subject stealing items from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road.

Report of a wallet found at a business in the 1000 block of East Broadway Avenue. The wallet was returned to the owner’s son at the owner’s request.

April 22

Report of a stolen vehicle recovered on South Sycamore Lane.

Report of a two-vehicle non-injury collision at West Basin Street and South Schneirla Avenue.

Report of four subjects concealing merchandise at a business in the 1200 block of South Pioneer Way. All four discarded the merchandise and attempted to leave when they saw law enforcement had been called.

Report of theft at a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road.

April 23

Report of a vehicle prowl on West Polo Ridge Drive. A computer, two notebooks and a backpack were stolen.

Report of theft from a business in the 2700 block of West Broadway Avenue.

Report of a gang fight involving a gun on Patton Boulevard. Grant County Sheriff’s deputies had secured the scene before MLPD arrived.

Report of attempted theft of a vacuum cleaner valued at $180 from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road. The item was recovered and the suspect left before law enforcement was called.
