Grant County Fire Protection District No. 13 is placing a proposition before the voters on the August 6, 2024 ballot to restore its 2024 regular property tax levy at $1.00 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation for collection in 2025 to be adjusted each of the succeeding five years by 6% per year. The Fire District is accepting names of people interested in participating in voter pamphlet statement pro and con committees. The deadline for appointing the committees is May 3, 2024. STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT Determination of NonSignificance 4/17/2024 Lead agency: City of Mattawa Agency Contact: Juan Ledezma (Public Works Director) 521 Government Rd., Mattawa, WA 99349 509-932-4037 Description of proposal - This project will eliminate the Portage Avenue Lift Station and construct 5100 LF of new gravity sewer main. Gravity sewer main will be installed west from the existing lift station toward SR 243, then north along the east side of SR243 crossing the highway entering the drainage basin to the Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF). Location of proposal - The Portage Ave. lift station is located at the corner of Portage Ave and 8th Street. The new sewer main will be located across Grant County parcel 191542000 heading west from the lift station towards SE 243, then north within the WSDOT easement for SR 243 and ultimately west across Grant County parcel 021873000 to a manhole located in Blanca Ct. Applicant/Proponent — City of Mattawa The City of Mattawa has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030. We have reviewed the attached Environmental Checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available upon request at Mattawa City Hall. This determination is based on the following findings and conclusions: The project will ensure that Best Management Practices (BMPs) are used during all aspects of constructions.
