Ephrata Chamber events scheduled
EPHRATA — The Ephrata Chamber of Commerce has dates set for its annual events for 2024. More information regarding these events may be found at EphrataChamber.org.
Business Expo —The chamber’s most recently founded event is set for April 10 from 4-7 p.m. at the Ephrata Recreation Center at 112 Basin St. SW. The event is for those 21 and older and is free for the public to attend to meet with local businesses and find out what is available from businesses in their community and nearby. It also allows businesses to meet with potential clients.
Sage-N-Sun Festival – This annual festival will kick off with the Kiddie Parade on June 6 and will continue June 7-8 with a grand parade, food and craft vendors, live music in the evenings and a beer garden Friday night and Saturday from noon to close. The annual festival welcomes people from all across the Pacific Northwest and beyond and supports local businesses by bringing visitors to downtown shopping areas.
Car Show & Shine — On June 20, more than 100 vehicles of all sorts, including classic and custom cars, will show up with chrome shining and mufflers rumbling. Trophies will be given out in a variety of categories for cars that are top-rate or simply unique. A poker walk to downtown businesses will be set up for car show participants. The Ephrata Chamber of Commerce is still looking for sponsors for this event.
Ephrata/Soap Lake Youth Ag Boosters — On Aug. 16 the communities of Ephrata and Soap Lake will turn out to support students that participate in Future Farmers of America, 4-H and the Grange with an auction. Donations are collected from area businesses and residents with all funds going to support local youth with an interest in agriculture. Funds are added to sales of market animals at the annual Grant County Fair livestock sale to ensure that a fair price is received for the animals sold.
Wine Walk — Parents need treats in October too, and Oct. 19, they’ll get a chance to visit 14 businesses in downtown Ephrata with the annual wine walk. Businesses will have wine samples for walkers to enjoy and a costume contest will be held with prizes for first through third places. An after-party will include live music and food along with wines available for purchase that are included in the wine walk sampling.
Trick or Treat Downtown — Chamber businesses located downtown will open their doors on Halloween to welcome local trick-or-treaters to their shops for the scariest — or sweetest, your mileage may vary — night of the year. Those businesses without a presence downtown are welcome to join other businesses in setting up a table on First Avenue SW next to the Ephrata Recreation Center. Last year’s event saw hundreds of children and families out having fun and enjoying live music while meeting local business owners, first responders and community leaders.
Bells on Basin — Ephrata’s annual holiday season event is set for Dec. 14 and is held in collaboration with the City of Ephrata. Breakfast with Santa, children’s activities, a parade and fun run are all part of the wintertime fun. The event will also feature an elf-on-a-shelf-themed shopping experience with a different store hosting the quirky little guy who will help them with special promotions to aid in bringing business to downtown for the holidays.
